Question of the Day: What's Your Ultimate Road Trip Fantasy?

Now that the leaves are changing and autumn is hitting the NextAutos office, road trips through the colorful countryside have been on the minds of our staff. Road trips are some of automotive enthusiasts' favorite things to do, and we all have one or two great drives that we'd like to embark on someday.
So tell us, what's your ultimate fantasy roadtrip? Leave your answer in the comments section, and if you've already lived out your road trip dream, we want to hear about it. Got photos? Upload those, too, and share them with the world.

somewhere remote, where you'd be the only one on the road. Probably siberia, mongolia, or maybe northern scandanavia. most of canada and alaska would be great too. Next to that, mountains, big mountains with windy roads.

Fantasy? Ok. First I'd pick up Kiera Knightley in the Veyron somewhere around Como. Then, well, then the rest doesn't really matter does it?

Taking a spin on the highway that goes all the way around Iceland could be interesting in the proper season, - Driving the whole Blue Ridge Parkway is a fine drive, too.
Ducati Minor
It has little to do with the road.

Probably a few weeks in the alps.
Route Napoleon > Stelvio pass > Genova > Como > Formula 1 at Monza or Mille Miglia at Brescia > Maybe a detour to Modena > Riva Garda > north to Austria > Salzburg > Munich (visiting BMW) > back to France through Switzerland stopping in Geneva, ending up somewhere like Nice or Monaco.
Car: Probably something like a Porsche Boxster S. Small, open top, fairly fast, fun to drive and good in tight spaces.
Small mountain roads when possible. Spring.

Me, Scarlett Johanson, a vegetable oil fired Mercedes, and it, uh, breaks down at the side of the road, and she like, uh, has to siphon some vegetable oil out of the gas tank, and, uh...

Actually just did this trip last week...
Pacific Coast highway down from Portland to San Diego. Some really beautiful smooth winding roads and small passing lanes added in to get by some of the less spirited motorists. No guard rails and shear 200 ft cliffs make the drive interesting too.
Ideally though....Switzerland.

I would start by getting myself a nice VW, a last edition would be nice, then drive it from Mexico City to the port of Veracruz, there take a ship to Portugal and from there travell across Europe...

Driving a support truck in the Dakar rally. They race 'em at the same time.

Never fantasized about road trips. There are soooo many great roads within the western US that I just go drive when I want to.

I drove my 2001 Porsche 911 convertible from VA Beach to Las Vegas, San Diego, LA, San Diego again, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, St Louis and back to VA Beach in just over 2 weeks. 7,333 miles, top down the whole way. I took some great pictures of my car every day at sunrise and at sunset, wherever I happened to be...
My co-workers thought I was nuts, but I enjoyed every mile.
